Chatbots that answer from your content, not guesses

A useful support chatbot does three things well. It answers from your own help articles, policies and product data. It says it doesn't know instead of inventing a refund policy. And it passes the conversation to a person when the question involves an angry customer, a billing dispute or anything it shouldn't decide alone. Most chatbot projects fail on the second and third points rather than the first, so that is where our agent spends its effort.

The agent starts by indexing the sources you name — a help center, PDFs, a product catalog, a Notion space or a set of past tickets — and builds retrieval so every answer is grounded in a specific passage. It then writes a short test set of real questions your customers ask, including several the bot should refuse, and runs the bot against them. A GrahAI engineer reads those transcripts before anything goes live on your site.

You choose where the bot appears: a widget on your website, a page inside your app, Slack for internal staff, or a messaging channel. Handoff can go to email, a shared inbox or a help desk such as Zendesk, Freshdesk or Intercom. Model usage is billed to an API account in your name, so running costs stay visible to you, and the prompts, code and knowledge index all belong to you after delivery.

What you receive

  • Chatbot deployed on your website, app or chosen channel
  • Knowledge index built from your sources, with a way to re-sync it
  • Readable system prompt and refusal rules you can edit yourself
  • Test transcript covering answered, refused and handed-off questions
  • Guide for updating the bot's content, plus two revision rounds

When to hire a person instead

An agent is a poor fit when the bot must give regulated medical, legal or financial advice, or when you have no written content for it to draw on yet. In those cases, start with a person who can write the source material and own the risk.

Hire an AI chatbot developer: common questions

How much does a custom AI chatbot cost?
A simple FAQ bot built from one help page starts around $199. Bots that read a few dozen documents and hand off to a help desk usually cost $299 to $799, and multilingual bots with order lookup or account data run $1,299 to $1,999. Model usage after launch is billed by your provider to your own account, so it sits outside our fixed price.
How do you stop the chatbot from making things up?
Answers are drawn only from passages retrieved from your content, and the bot is instructed to say it doesn't know when nothing relevant turns up. The agent tests this with questions that sit just outside your docs, such as a discount you never offered, and the engineer review checks those transcripts. No chatbot is perfect, so unanswered questions are logged for you to fill the gaps.
Can the bot hand a conversation to a human?
Yes. Common triggers are an explicit request to speak to someone, payment or account disputes, repeated failed answers and clearly frustrated messages. The handoff can create a ticket, send an email, post to Slack or open a live-chat session in tools like Intercom or Zendesk, carrying the transcript along so the customer doesn't have to repeat themselves.
What content can the chatbot learn from?
Help-center articles, PDFs, Word files, Google Docs, Notion pages, product feeds, spreadsheets and exported ticket history all work. Scanned images need text recognition first, which the agent can include in the scope. We also set up a way to refresh the index when your content changes, either on a schedule or with a single command you run.
Will the bot reply in languages other than English?
It can answer in the customer's language even when your source content is written in English, and it can be limited to the languages your team supports. For Hindi, Spanish, Arabic or any other language, list them in your job post so the test set includes real questions in each one before launch.
